You’ve probably heard of the Twin Flame, Mirror Soul, Twin Soul, Kindred Spirit, Soulmate, or Soul Partner. This is the belief that, out there, somewhere, is our ideal lover; someone who’s literally part of our soul.
There’s a surprisingly long history to this belief.
For thousands of years, cultures and religions, from the ancient Persian Zoroastrian religion to that of the Norse (“Vikings”) have believed, especially, in supernatural women (and, sometimes, the supernatural man).
But, we find such figures, too, in the writings of Geoffrey Chaucer (considered the greatest writer in the English language besides Shakespeare).
These supernatural women are initiators, sorceresses, and the daughters of the gods.
Most importantly, they transform the consciousnesses of their male, human loves and initiates, turning them into poets, oracles, and magicians.
In my upcoming book Supernatural Woman and the Male Initiate: Bonded Through Dreams (out May 26, 2026), I explore the history and enduring power of the supernatural woman (as well as a few examples of the supernatural man).
The book includes a foreword by Lua Valentia, author of Advanced Chaos Magic and the founder of the Specula system.
