You know all the reasons to stop smoking. Hypnosis can help you quit—for good.
A study by the University of Scranton, USA, found that participants who experienced only one hypnosis session “smoked significantly less cigarettes” than compared to a “placebo control” group.
Although nicotine is addictive the biggest obstacle is usually the mind. And that’s why hypnosis can be so effective.
How Smoking Affects Your Body
Smokers often think that smoking calms them down. In reality, as Psychology Today notes, ingesting nicotine causes “a discharge of epinephrine from the adrenal cortex, causing a sudden release of glucose.”
Epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) plays a crucial role in the “fight, flight, or freeze” phenomenon that prepares us to escape a perceived threat. Along with the adrenaline spike, your blood pressure also rises, putting you at greater risk for a heart attack. These effects are the opposite of what happens in your body when you are calm.
Smoking, in other words, isn’t calming you down; it’s making you agitated. And being agitated makes you crave another cigarette.
And, as you know, smoking can cause serious health problems over the long-term.

“Working with Angel was great. I wasn’t sure what to expect for my first experience with hypnosis, but was immediately at ease and comfortable. Angel is a great listener and a calming presence.”—Stephanie Chuang.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect but he walks you through it and makes you feel super comfortable, asking what’s going on in your life, and gets some background information before he really plunges into the hypnosis itself. Overall, it’s just a really positive experience. It just feels really good. It feels really enlightening. It feels like you have a kick-start into the new chapter of your life. And I think that’s kinda what I was looking for.”—Amanda Maiorano.
